About me

My name is Vasilisa.

I was born in North Russia where winters are very long, dark and cold. That environment had an influence on me. I started to handmade early and when I was 5 years old, I knitted my first mittens. Since that time I’ve been making something by my hands. Art is everything to me. I can’t imagine a life without it.

My first doll was made in December, 2010 for the gift. It was Tilda style doll. That time, the works of Norwegian designer, Tone Finnanger, inspired me. As a result, I created more than 50 dolls in her style what helped me to discover my own style. And today, I am obsessed about portrait dolls.

What I Do

I create each of these lovely dolls individually. I make clothes, hair and accessories out of the finest materials that I can find, selecting those individually for every doll to better suit her personality.

I love getting custom orders as they give me ideas that I may never have thought of myself. If you would like to order a doll in a particular color scheme or style, I’d be delighted to do it!

Also, I would like to share my doll making experience for you. I hope my tutorials can help beginner doll makers to create their own cloth dolls.

*A little word of warning…my dolls are purely decorative, and not meant as toys for little people. Some of them are heavily decorated with sequins or buttons or beads, etc. and I would not want them to cause any harm. They are much better suited to sitting on a shelf or a window sill and adding a bit of cheer and glamour to a room.
